These grey photochromic gradient lenses offer unparalleled levels of protection and natural vision. Darker at the top of the lens to shield eyes from the sun above, the hydrogen firing photochromic treatment also causes the lens to darken when exposed to UV rays in the same way our pupils dilate in reaction to light exposure, meaning that these are ideal for all levels of unstable light conditions.
L.G.R was founded in Rome in 2005 by Luca Gnecchi Ruscone and has since become eponymous with quality and timeless, elegant style.
L.G.R eyewear is 100% handmade in Italy by one of three artisan families, who build each frame from start to finish using traditional artisan methods of production. The particular composition of their cellulose acetate means that they can be bent to shape without heating, before placing each frame in a tumbler of beech and birch wood to knock off sharp edges and to coat the frames in a natural strengthening resin. They are then expertly polished and finished by hand.
The fusion of these traditional methods of Italian craftsmanship combined with the technology of Barberini, tempered mineral glass lenses results in a product of the highest possible quality and a collection where the virtues from the past are distilled into modern frames of unparalleled elegance.
